Cookie Bake-a-thon
What is a “Bake-a-thon”
When my daughter was younger, our holiday party consisted of inviting people over to decorate cookies. The kids loved it, and everyone went home with holiday cookies to share. It was a nice tradition.
Of course, times and interests change. HOWEVER, I thought it would be fun to host it for my grad school classmates and their friends. Who doesn’t like a good cookie? It’s a fun way to celebrate the friendship and accomplishments we’ve all made on the road to being Holistic Mental Health Counselors.
Let’s explore how that feels….

FAQ:
Do I bring cookies? No, I'll be baking all the cookies. I'm making the roll out cookies with holiday shapes.
Do you have control issues? Yes.
Do you like to bake? Yes, I do. It is a peaceful project.
What can I bring? A container to take your decorated cookies with you.
Can I bring a kid? As long as it is your kid. However, this is more of a grownup party. There will be booze and whatnot.
Can I bring a friend and/or a date? Sure. Points will be deducted for any stranger who starts a sentence with "If you read your bible..."
Will this party be sober friendly?: YES! There will be plenty of non-alcoholic beverages and as a fellow sober traveler, you’re safe. Bear in mind, I want everyone to feel welcomed, so there will be offerings in clearly established spaces. Also, I won’t take it personally if you show up late and leave early. Stay as long as you want. You don’t even need to say goodbye! Just take some cookies with you.
